Young children learn best through manipulation of materials and hands-on experiences. These activities are carefully planned and facilitated by knowledgeable teachers. This learning looks very much like play - but play with purpose and intent. Teachers organize and display materials so that children use them to figure things out, practice skills, and learn new concepts. Kid’s Campus offers young children their first positive educational experience in a preschool setting, serving northern Calvert County. We focus on early literacy & math skills, science lessons, socialization skills, conflict resolution, practical life lessons, physical movement & play, and the arts.

The St. Charles Children's Learning Center provides quality childcare and a safe learning environment for the children of students, faculty, staff and community. The center's program is devotes to enhancing the lives of young children through a child-centered developmentally appropriate curriculum. The center is committed to enhancing the students' quality of life by supporting their educational goals.

The center values and promotes diversity, creativity, and inspiration by creating supportive partnerships with families. The center nurtures positive communication and cooperation with families to provide a happy, healthy and safe environment for the children.

As a self-supporting operation of the college, the Children's Center employs professional and ethical practices to achieve high-quality customer service.

About Our Center

The St. Charles Children's Learning Center opened January 30, 2006 to 20 children ages 2, 3, and 4 years old. The center received its Maryland State License (#08-132502) and the required background checks on the childcare staff for those classrooms. As we received the results of the required background checks on other childcare staff from the state’s Criminal Justice Information System and the FBI, additional classrooms were opened. At this time, all of our classrooms are open and have children enrolled.
